HSDIO: Continuous streaming with pause

Hi Guys,

I'm using a 6541 PXI datacard card in an attempt to create a serial interface to a device. I have used the Continuous Streaming example a a basis as my acquisitions intended will be far larger than the onboard memory of the card.

I now require (in order to again make transfer/processing more efficient) that I use pause (or even advance?) so that the card is not still sampling when data is invalid.

Is this possible to use pause when streaming? The HSDIO driver documentation says it is supported after ver 1.6, and I have the latest versions installed but it has not worked for me. Has anyone had success in implemting this?

   Thanks,

    ds

Hi ds,

I believe that what you are trying to do is certainly possible woth the 6541 and NI-HSDIO.

Please take a look at the information that has already been recorded in this forum, including the documentation suggested.

The example finder also has a Pause trigger example for generation bu this may e applicable to the aquistition also.

This can be found in the example finder under Hardware Input and Output>> Modular Instruments>> Dynamic Generation>> Non-Scripted>> Dynamic Generation Hardware Pause Trigger with Idle State.

Please let me know how you get on!
