I was trying to create an HTML report using Labview 2009 professional version. I get the following error. I please need some help to fix this. I thought I had 1year license.

Thanks

There is no such thing as a 1 year license. You either have 30 days or the license never expires. The report generation toolkit is a separate add-on but I believe the basic version that comes with LabVIEW does allow HTML reports.

I am just trying for a basic html report generation using the vi that come under programming-report generation. I have attached my subvi which I am using to create some basic html report by looking at the Ni - example finder -> generate_html report. I just need to get few screenshots of indicators array and waveform graph I have on my screen and create a html file. Do I need license to do this or can I use the basic one that comes with Labview 2009. Please let me know. Thanks

Hello Romesh,

The html generation VIs come with LabVIEW basic so this shouldn't be an issue. After looking at you post, I tried to see if I could reproduce this error by using the VI you posted and by deactivating it on my machine but I wasn't able to. This VI isn't connected to the Report Generation Toolkit for Microsoft Office that would need a license. If you are seeing the error with this, I would follow this knowledgebase that describes how to deactivate/remove license files for your computer. In your case you would need to remove the Report Generation Toolkit for Microsoft Office.

The error that you have posted though looks like you have used Microsoft Word report generation VIs in it. Since you evaluation license has expired (which is 30 days), you will need to remove these in order to use your application. If you need to work with Microsoft products and you want more information, I would suggest contacting us about this at 1-866-ASK-MYNI.

I hope this information helps and if you have any more questions, feel free to post.

Thanks for the reply Jim. What is the significance in using Microsoft report generation tool kit. Would that be helpful in creating html reports or just the basic one that comes with Labview is enough. I know it could depend on what I would like to do in my report. All I need is to capture screenshots of my front panel controls and indicators and put them .html file for the user to look at it at the end of the run.

Thanks

Hello romesh,

The HTML report generation VIs are not a part of the Microsoft Report Generation VIs and these VIs would add anything assist with this application. I believe that using these VIs would be the best way to implement this. My thought with this problem was that LabVIEW was having a problem using these Html VIs while this license expired since they have some interdependencies. Did this fix the problem?

Hi Jim. I restarted my system and now I don't see any error. I am not sure whether that is because of restart. Will implement it and will let you know.

Thanks.
