How can I run a counter task and flip DO's at the same time with a USB-6251?

What I am trying to do is read position data from an encoder, and manipulate digital outputs at the same time.  Is this even possible?  I might be able to get around it by setting my outputs, closing the task, opening a new one to read the encoder, but i would rather do it at the same time.  Thanks for the help.

Yes, just create separate tasks for each counter and DO or group of DO and you can work with them independently.

So I take it that I can't just use the DAQ Assist then?  Because thats what I am trying right now.

You can use DAQ assist. You will need more than one. One each for each thing you wish to do.
