In LabVIEW 7.0, the window from the Icon-Editor from National Instruments is caled "Symbol-Editor".
The "Symbol-Editor" is used to make or modify Vi-Icons, Icons from Globals, Icons for Controls etc..
The "Symbol-Editor" opens, is you make a double-click on the vi-icon on the front panel.

It looks like someone else that was poking around in th basement found an interesting gem!

Please share where you found this VI.

Try dropping the icon on the diagram of a new VI and check out the help (:))).

The icon connector may help give you some clues.

But...
what does it return?

You can't find such a VI because it doesn't exist. The
Icon Editor is a built in window in LabVIEW and not a VI.

Thank you for your ansver.
That means that you see no possibiltiy to use the built in window? (I think the built in window is programmed with LabVIEW as well...)

The icon editor at least up to version 7.0 of LabVIEW is not written as
VI but directly implemented inside LabVIEW, which is written in C/C++.
