How do I CREATE chart scales programmatically?

If the scales already exist, I can change the properties, but so far I have not been able to figure out how to create a new Y-scale.  I get error code 1077 (invalid property value) when I try to set the "Active Y Scale" property to a value above 0 (if the referenced scale only has 1 Y-scale).  (I am using LabVIEW 2009)

Thngs like scales on charts and captions for all objects must first exist before being manipulated. (Prior to LV 7.0 ?)? all objects had captions by default).

So aside from scripting (writing LV code using LV) you have to create the scales ahead fo time and hide what you are not using.

I tried to figure out how to create them using VI scripting, but couldn't.

Do I need to create a new VI object?  If so, I couldn't find a "style" value that worked.
