How to connect Axis IP camera to Ni-Max??

Hello,

I have AXIS M1031-W Network Camera (http://www.axis.com/files/manuals/um_m10_46940_en_1203.pdf), first time  I am dealing with this type of IP camera.

When I connect this camera to my PC and go to the http //192.168.0.65:8081, I am able to access the camera, so I guess its working fine with PC.

But when I Open Ni-Max then in the list of detected camera in Ni-IMQdx devices, I can see the name of my camera but when I click on it I am not able to see any video streaming on it.

Could you please guide me how to solve this problem .

here in attachment I have attached the screen shot of camera detection.

Thank you very much in advance.

With Greetigs,

Ankit.

Hi Ankit,

I saw your previous post which did not end in a solution of your problem.

Did you find out how to open port 8080 in the meantime? This is not a NI specific topic it depends on your OS.

The easier way is to turn of the firewall. Are you allowed to do so?

Please, make sure that the camera is supported from IMAQdx. From the following link we read:

"National Instruments supports Internet Protocol (IP) cameras manufactured by Basler and Axis. An IP camera typically sends a compressed image over an ethernet connection. The NI-IMAQdx driver only supports IP cameras that provide MJPEG images. Axis IP cameras must have firmware version 2.0 (or later) to be supported."

Please, verify these criteria.

If you have further questions please feel free to come back to me.

Kind Regards,

Vanessa

Thank you very much for your reply..

Yes I have read this document several times and I am dealing with Axis m1031-w camera so it should be supported by NI.

And meanwhile I tried with open port 8080 also  for example I changed 8080 port to 8081 port which is camera port.

But I got same error every time.

I am able to access the camera by doing ping and using URL.

I have made my firewall off.

But still not got any solutions.

I made all changes as per http://www.ni.com/white-paper/10867/en/ this link, as I am not using compact rio but just for operate IP camera in Ni-Max.

But it always same problem.

Please suggest me any solutions this is my final year project and I am too much worried as I didn't get any help form Ni forum also.

Thank you very much once again for your reply.

Regards,

Ankit

Hi Ankit,

you are right the german link should work for you as well.

Am I right that you get stuck at point 3? The "snap" and "grab" buttons are missing in your menu?

Did you try to add the device in LabVIEW?

Kind Regards,

Vanessa

Hi Ankit,

from your third post I read "its working fine in when I connect my robot and handle with labview.". Please, do not open more post on the same issue. This is not the way we communicate.

For this special camera it could be the case that you cannot configure it in MAX. It appears there but the configuration needs to be done through an AXIS tool.

To add the camera to LabVIEW follow point 4 in your german tutorial.

Vanessa

hii,

Now i ll post my queries here in this post only.

ya the thing is in robot it call camera vi direcly form the URL so its working fine in that case.

but i have to deal with Ni-IMAQdx so in that i have to detect my camera in Ni.max and in that case i am gettign problem.

I have tried that tutorial and change subnet mask adress and ething but i dont know it gives me same error everytime.

for example my camera ip is 192.168.0.65 and port is 8081.

so i have change the tcp ip of pc LAN ip adress 192.168.0.13

                                                       subnet mask: 255.255.255.0

                                                stnadard gateway: 192.168.0.65

but nothing is happen, by doing ping also give me answer.

the thing is now should i need to change the port adress of labview 8080 to 8081 or is it remain same.???

thank you very much once again.

Regards,

Ankit.

Hi Ankit,

in a previous post you already wrote "And meanwhile I tried with open port 8080 also  for example I changed 8080 port to 8081 port which is camera port.". But it is a try worth to set the port to the same value and open that port.

Do you have a custome firewall in addition to the Windows firewall? Or any other Antivir program which avoids the communication?

Kind Regards,

Vanessa

Hi AnkitRamani,

Please check the case-2 in this link, i think ur device initailization is the problem. I see that red mark.

First make sure only one user is acessing camera at anytime.and turn off firewall/antivirus.
