how to we know "D:\Archive\Desktop\Robot Control Project\example.xx " file or folder path. I need to know exactly whether it is a file or a folder

Check in the File IO->Advanced palette.

File/Directory Info function gives you an indication if the path is pointing to a directory or file (if it is valid and exists, otherwise you get an according error).
