I am encountering two issues with the NI 9862 card for CAN communication in a new cRIO 9056 chassis.

I am encountering two issues with the NI 9862 card for CAN communication in a new cRIO 9056 chassis, and I would appreciate your assistance in troubleshooting:

1. CAN Communication Not Working:

I have installed all required software, including NI XNET 20.5.1, on the new cRIO 9056 chassis. I have also performed a self-test on the NI 9862 module, which passed successfully. Also, In the RT VI, I can select the XNET interface. However, when I run the VI, the CAN card lights remain off, and in the vi , not able to receive any CAN data.

I have deployed the .dbc file from the XNET Database Editor, but the issue persists. Interestingly, when using the same models, the same .dbc file, and the same software versions on another chassis, everything works fine.

2. RT VI Not Running as Startup:

Additionally, I am facing issues with the RT VI not running on startup. On the other chassis, the system successfully receives CAN messages. However, when I configure the RT VI as the startup VI in the Build Specification and reboot the system, the RT VI does not run as expected, and the CAN card remains in the off state.

Could you please help me investigate the cause of these issues? Any guidance on troubleshooting would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your assistance.

Can you try if you can do a loopback test?

How Do I Perform a Loopback Test with NI-XNET Device?

Using NI 986x Modules with cRIO-904x or cRIO-905x

I ran exactly your chassis with your CAN card "successfully". Do you see any error output? Are you programming in FPGA or DAQmx? Does your VI run, when started from host machine?
