Does this have anything to do with the other messages you've posted, starting with this one: http://forums.ni.com/t5/Instrument-Control-GPIB-Serial/Troubling-communicating-with-hp34401A-using-R...

MAX isn't going to show you the USB ports. The OS does that. MAX will only show you recognized devices. If the OS doesn't have a driver for the USB device, then you won't see it in MAX.

If the device is NOT from NI, you will most of the times not se it in MAX.

That doesn't mean you can't use it in LabVIEW, MAX just only shows NI products.

ok but I dont know how to use because when I was dealing with RS 232 then I was able to see the com port but now with USB i dont know what to do becase we dont have to do serial configuration in this.so what kind of setting required for that?in attachment you can see the screen shot in that i am not able to see the usb connection.

Don't even think about using the VISA wizard at this point and the image makes no sense. You say you are trying USB but the image shows Ethernet. There is a huge difference. Do you really know what you are using?

STOP. The link that you keep insisting you downloaded a driver from is an IVI driver - not LabVIEW. I've told you that over and over again. Download the LabVIEW driver above it and THROW AWAY the code you have now.
