Hi community, I'm working right now with LV Proffesional Version 2019 SP1. Considering update to Win11, I'm thinking to update the software to Version 2024 or maybe 2025.
I've looked at the price table, it is quite expensive right now.
Has anyone much experiences with older&newer Version? Is it much much better than the older version? Is it worth to update the software for €10600?

Are you looking at the new purchase prices? In the past there was update pricing for an existing license but I am not sure if they still do that.

I was going to mention the same thing.
I don't handle updating at my organization, but when I talked to the guy who did handle it back in 2021 (pre-subscription era) he said that upgrading an existing license instead of buying a new one would be anywhere from 10% to 50% off. However, he had to go through a sales rep; there was no way to do it on the NI site as a standard user.
So, contact your sales rep to ask, or ask whoever does your purchasing to do so.

Another thing to consider is that NI's "Compatibility" tables suggests that LabVIEW 2019 is not compatible with Windows 11. [Take this with a grain of salt -- I remember NI saying LabVIEW 7 was not compatible with Windows 7, but I think I managed to install it ... or was it Windows XP?].
I'm pretty sure I've tried to "port" one of my programs that used vanilla DAQmx to talk to a USB-6001 and found that I couldn't install a built Executable to a Windows 11 machine, but when I rebuilt the same Project (on my work PC) with LabVIEW 2024, the Executable ran fine.

Renewing your expired software service is absolutely the most cost-effective way to upgrade LabVIEW versions, and will always be cheaper than buying a whole new perpetual license. After you renew software service, your existing license is updated to work with the newer versions as well.
But you actually can initiate this process from ni.com:
If you don't see your license in My Products, then you'll need to register your serial number to your account.
Hope that helps!

Considering that it is a typo for typo accurate copy, it seems a safe bet to answer this with YES.

It would be resonable to post in both, but then i'd assume the same/similar user name.

when you buy a new perpetual licence for labview professional, this will be 10k
a 1-year subscription is 3k
a 3-years subscription is 9k
so, if you plan to buy a perpetual licence, you should use it at least for 3 years.
a subscription doesn't force you to upgrade, but labview ide will 't stop working after your subscription has terminated.

with the follow up question are the new versions of LabVIEW better than the older ones.
Well, that depends on how you (and your employer) define "worth". I would say that the value proposition for purchasing LabVIEW in any form has gone down to rock bottom in the last few years, as in; there is no value for business that don't already use LabVIEW heavily. Emerson now monetizes the unfortunate that are locked into the LabVIEW ecosystem without providing any real innovation or value over older versions of LabVIEW that were a fraction of the cost (see the latest new "features" for 22, 23, 24). A few years back, NI tanked LabVIEW NXG and sealed the long term fate of LabVIEW. At this point you are buying an old code base that will never see another major update or overhaul. There will be a trickle of features and you will be leveraged to keep paying either under a subscription or by obsolescence of perpetual licenses (how many years will Emerson support a perpetual license?). The sad truth is that there are enough locked in commercial LabVIEW code bases that Emerson will make plenty of money even if they never convince a new company to adopt LabVIEW. This is the big issue I have, Emerson has changed LabVIEW from soemthing innovative and helpful that engineers would (and could) purchase to a revenue vehicle (SaS) that requires a sales team to market to division managers or C suites. So back to worth, before you shell out 10k for an updated seat for LabVIEW, you really need to now do a cost analysis for the purchase, look at other options, find the driving factor for the update, it's no longer a no brainer : )
