Solved!

Hi all,

Simple question.  I currently not creating a task or starting a task, I am simply creating a channel and reading that chanel.

Question is...  Why i do not get a time stamp when doing this and must i create a task to get one from this?

There is a timestamp when using the DAQ Assistant or when you choose to return a waveform data type with the DAQmx Read.

You can't do a read without a task. You do not have to create the task in MAX, though.
