Keyboard shortcut to increase text size

Solved!
Go to solution

On my W7 machine running LV 2010 SP1, the Ctrl+= keyboard shortcut doesn't work. However Ctrl+- decreases the text size as expected.

No problem on WXP and LV 2010 SP1.

Is this a known W7 bug/behavior ? Is this key combination reserved by W7 ?

To reproduce this unexpected behavior :

  1.  type a text on the FP or diagram
  2.  select the text
  3.  press the Ctrl+= combination on the keyboard (Ctrl Shift 😃
  4.  the text size should increase

I don't currently have 2010 Sp1 installed, am downloading it as we speak, but with W7 (64bit) LabVIEW 2010 I am seeing the normal behavior when I press the Ctrl key and hit the +/= key, the text increases. So it isn't apparently a W7 (64) reserved key combo. I'll hopefully be able to tell you more about SP1 later.

Dear JB,

I'm sorry, but this is a bug in LV2010 SP1.

It will be fixed in next release.

In the meantime you can create your own shotcuts.

with Clrt+Space you will come Quickdrop, and with a further buttom to the Shortcuts...

Best regards,

Tatjana

Running LabVIEW 2010 SP1 (32bit) on Windows 7 (64bit) and the keyboard shortcut "ctrl+=" works just fine and exactly the same it worked in any earlier LabVIEW version.

(I constantly use these shortcuts to increase/decrease font sizes, so I would have immediately noticed anything unusual very long ago.)

So... under which exact condition is it broken? There must be more to your story. (Different OS language? Only on W7 32bit? Some other software present? Strange keyboard?)

  • W7 32 bits french
  • No W7 64 bits machine --> I can't test with this configuration
  • Standard keyboard with Swiss French layout (worked fine with LV2010 SP1 on my XP computer)
  • Ctrl+- works fine
  • Ctrl+= does nothing (not only under some conditions)
  • Same behaviour with the computer (same OS and LV) of a colleague

My machine is also running LV2010 SP1 (32bit) English.

The bug or at least unexpected behaviour could be reproduced by NI's support in Germany. I will keep you informed in the case a CAR is generated.

Thank you very much for your time.
