LV Version vs. LV Runtime Version for NI-SCOPE Requirements

Solved!
Go to solution

Hello,

I am using the PCI-5112. When I look at the hardware in MAX it says something along the lines "Using old version"

I would like to upgrade to the most recent version but I am confused about the requirements for different versions of NI-SCOPE.

For example, in MAX, under Software, I have:

LV 8.2

LV Runtime 8.2.1

LV Runtime 8.0.1

LV Runtime 7.1

And for example the 3.6 version of NI-SCOPE: http://joule.ni.com/nidu/cds/view/p/id/1492/lang/en

They say Labview 8.2.1

Now since I have 8.2 and the runtime 8.2.1 would I be fine?

As well I noticed a discrepancy. On the old computer which has the hardware for the versions of NI-SCOPE it says:

NI-SCOPE (IVI) - 3.4.0f3

NI SCOPE Soft Front Panel - 2.8

However on the new machine I installed NI-SCOPE 3.8.7 and I have:

NI SCOPE Runtime - 3.87

NI SCOPE Soft Front Panel - 3.8

Which seems a lot more reasonable since they are both 3.8. Any reason why on the old computer there would be this difference?

Thanks for the help. Cheers.

Hi AFolly,

I checked with the installer for NI-Scope 3.4 and it includes Soft Front Panel version 8.2.1, so this is expected. However, I do believe that you will need to have LabVIEW version 8.2.1 in order to properly support version 3.6 of NI-SCOPE.
