Hello,
I am utterly confused by the Quarterly releases vs Service Packs vs Patches for LabView
Why dont' National establish one place where we can find alll this information? It is very frustrating (and a vaste of time) having to search all over forum messages to find information about this!
Also, since we have a license that we continously update, why don't National send this out in emails to us?
NI seems to have no problem reaching us via email with commercial ads!
It seems this would be a natural place to keep all info on labview: http://sine.ni.com/psp/app/doc/p/id/psp-357
(And why do the links have to be that cryptic ?)
However:
a) there is NO info here on the F3 patch that I found by accident and that is crucial to my MathScript use !
b) there is info on Service Pack 1, but NO info that it has not been released yet (whic is stated above!)
Thus I have used much time searching for a download that does not exist yet.
c) and will Service Pack 1 make it into a Quarterly Update? Which One and when?
Please, I am currently running three LV projects that depend upon this information being relayed to me and my clients in a more timely and orderly fashion !
I am experiencing a memory leak on LV RT 2009 on a cFP: Service Pack 1 mentions several memory leak fixes, but it is impossible to understand whether they relate to the RT part of LV or not.

Hi Geir,
You make some valid points. I will pass this information to the appropriate team.
Have you purchased support? If you have, you should be recieving notifications on the updates.

Hello,
Thanks a lot for your feedback.
No, we haven't purchased support; it's a total cost vs client end price product.
However, I do feel we should not have to purchase support to get updates on info like this.

Hello Dennis,
and thanks !
My point is though, how do we find the updates, service packs and patches? There is absolutely no logic to the links.
They should all be placed in one place that we all could check to find what we need.
And, another thing: In which order do we now install the "updates":
I have the F3 patch for LV 2009: Does SP1 replace the F3 patch?
Should it be removed before installing SP1?
Should I then install F3 patch after SP1?
It would also be nice if pages like this are dated so we now when the update was made available: This way we would know of the SP was newer than Patch XX and so forth.
I use LV to save development time and cost for the clients: Searching all over the NI domain for info like this is not a part of that time saving...
again thanks for your help !

Hello,
We do have a Service agreement: We have paid and receive yearly updates of LV since 2007.
Patel above asked if we have paid for support, which we have not, but again we DO have a SSP (All these US 3 letter abbrevations are somewhat difficult to remember for a non us citizen like me).
So what do I do to receive these update notifications? Is it NI here in Norway that lets us down?

If you have an SSP you should receive every 4 month a bunch of DVDs, these include the latest LabVIEW version. You can see LabVIEW 2009 SP1 as LabVIEW 9.1. Haven't checked what version is of LabVIEW when questioned for it.

Hello,
Thanks.
Yup, we do receive these DVDs. However, Service Packs and Patches on the LV Forum is available **much** earlier, and that might make or break a project.
That's why we do need and want to receive notifications of these Service Packs and Patches !
