LabVIEW 2020 Linux Subdiagram Label possible bug.

Hi everyone,

I have a strange behavior of ALL Structures in LabVIEW 2020 under OpenSUSE Linux.

1. Place any structure on the Block Diagram.
2. Enable Subdiagram Label.
3. Right-click the structure and select Remove ... Structure.
4. The structure has been removed. But....

The Subdiagram Label remains in place!

You can edit text in it. You can change its height. And it's all.
You cannot delete, move or hide it. It looks like it will stay here forever!
I test it on Cases, Sequences, Loops... same behavior.

Even if you open this VI under Windows, you cannot remove these labels.

Any advice?

Hi diman27

There is no any problem with that in my case. I tried on different structures, and everything was okay, even in your code I can easily delete the case structure.

What I suggest is uninstalling and reinstalling your LabVIEW drivers.

I tried in 2020 SP1 for Windows (32-bit) and while that label can be resized (only downwards) it defininitely can't be selected and accordingly not deleted either.

With 2020 being old metal and 2023 having seemingly fixed that issue at least on the Windows side of being able to delete the orphaned object, I guess this is going down in the annals as one of those quirky things that just happened and nobody is going to spend any more time on it.

This only happens in the Linux version of LabVIEW.

Perhaps NI has also fixed this issue in the latest version of LabVIEW for Linux.

Unfortunately, I can't test it now.
