Hello,
We are using a NI-9145 compact RIO chassis for one of our projects. It has a Zynq-7020 FPGA in it, and we will be working with it, along with tweaking the required VHDL firmware.
I have no experience in LabVIEW. Can you advice on what version of labview should be installed in my computer to work with the above mentioned chassis, and if any specific add-on needs to be purchased?
Thanks,
Manoj

NI-9145 is a cRIO chassis. It does not have its own controller and hence relies on other master chassis to communicate with it. For the minimum, you would need LabVIEW, LabVIEW FPGA and NI-IndusComm for EtherCAT driver to program it. If you are using a NI cRIO controller as the master, you would also need the LabVIEW Real-Time module.
NI-9145 is first supported in NI-ECAT 16.1. Any LabVIEW version 2013 or later works.

Thanks for the response ZYong. May I know if LabVIEW is free or is it paid software?. Can I just download it from the following link?
Thanks,
Manoj

You can download most stuff for free - but to use it for business (and longer than 7 days) you need to buy a license subscription…
