I do not need assistance--this post is just to note that I have had repeated failures loading LabVIEW from the installation CD at the same exact point during the installation. It happened again five minutes ago installing a LabVIEW 7.0 -> 7.1 upgrade, so I thought I would post the problem.
- This has occured ever since I started installing LabVIEW with version 6.1
- The problem occurs on multiple computers I have used at various times, all running Windows 2k Pro
- The crash occurs when "Complete" installation is selected (not "Custom"), causing LabVIEW to prompt for the driver installation CD half-way through, after LabVIEW itself is installed.
- At that point there is a not-so-intuitive dialog saying the necessary files weren't found (you'd think it would be a dialog telling you to insert the next CD, but instead it's more like an error that the files can't be found), and it tells you that you can browse for them elsewhere, or rescan the drive. I am not sure if the installer hangs at that point, or at the point the driver CD is inserted and the user clicks "Rescan", but it's at the same spot every single time--it just hangs.
- The solution is Ctrl+Alt+Delete, kill the installer, re-install using a "Custom" installation to make sure LabVIEW itself is installed ok (it usually is), and then to install the device driver cd's separately.
