LabVIEW with Windows LTSC - Any Issues?

Hello Gurus,

I have a customer who is asking for us develop a LabVIEW application using the Windows 10 LTSC operating system. I've never worked with Windows LTSC before, so I did some research into it. It seems as though it's just a "locked down" version of Windows that will not require updating. (Did I get that right?)

I don't see any reason why LabVIEW would have issues with the LTSC OS, but I wanted to check with the experts, just in case some of you have insights. Thanks very much in advance.

Nothing special about LTSC version and impact to LabVIEW. It is just another Windows 10 version release and should not impact your application development.

Appreciate this is now an aged forum topic, but I have the same questions regarding Labview on Windows 11 Enterprise LTSC, released in late Oct 2024.  I'm currently reaching out to a number of vendors in advance of our planned migration to this OS due to Microsoft's cessation of support for all flavours of Win 10 in Oct 2025.  We've elected for Win 11 LTSC, hence need to ask if there are any known or perceived issues with the installation, usage or support of Labview in such an environment.  Please go easy on me, it's my first post on NI 🙂  Many thanks

Hi

Windows 10 2019 LTSC is a fine secure compromise to get a version of Windows which will get Cumulative Updates for some years, if you really need to use an old Windows version on the local network.

We needed to use FireWire features for some old products and 1809 was the last to support that. When 1809 security support ended we made the switch to 2019. No issues.

Regards

Cheers Softball, so at least no issues running LabVIEW on Windows 10 LTSC then.  Just wondering if anyone out there has had a similar experience with Windows 11 LTSC as released in Oct 2024.  Grateful for any other experiences on this, good or bad.  cheers

I have two installations on Windows 11 Enterprise LTSC Version 24H2.

LabVIEW 2024Q3 64-bit + VDM.

The only minor issue is here:

Because of Security and Core isolation. But no any hard crashes or freezing, it works in general so far.
