Hello,

I am Sachin Bhat, an intern for Ametek Instruments India Pvt Ltd. I have been associated with engineers of Ametek for past 15 days on configuring a compactRIO system. I have almost configured the system but need some more time to complete it fully. I want some information about the LabVIEW  development system. If I want the LabVIEW Full development system, do I need to buy a license for using it????

if you need to use some software in general you have to pay a license fee...

Why should NI give away their product for free?

"Building a stand-alone application with LabVIEW requires the Application Builder component which is included with the Professional Development System but requires a separate purchase if using the Base Package or Full Development System" - this is what i read on the wikipedia. CAn you explain to me what this senstence means? I may give you a Kudos.....

Hi Sachin,

LabVIEW is sold in 3 different flavors: Base, Full, and Professional. The flavors are different in price and available functions.

The AppBuilder is only included in the PDS (ProDevSystem) and has to be purchased seperatedly with the Base or Full flavor.

That's it.

Whenever it comes to questions about (buying a) LabVIEW license you should call your local NI sales guy. Just do it!
