LabView installation issue after downloading(~48GB) from university portal

Hallo,

I recently ordered the LabVIEW 2020 and downloaded the iso file successfully (~ 48GB). I use Operating system: MacOS M1. Following the instructions provided, I need to mount the ISO file.

However, after mounting, it is occupying space of ~48GB, but I am not able to view the files after mounting. There is problem with sharing and privacy, I am not able to change to access to read/ read and write.  As a result, I am not able to process further with the installation process.

I am not able to figure out if I am doing something wrong, or there is problem with the iso file.

Please find the attached images for better understanding.

Any inputs from your side to solve this issue will be highly helpful.

I am of no help on the permission issue on mac.

Though you downloaded LV2020, it is possible that it may not work on M1 processor.

Some have been successful in running LV2020 SP1 on M1

An official support for M1/M2 processors were added only in LV2023 - https://forums.ni.com/t5/LabVIEW-Public-Beta-Program-in/New-Feature-LabVIEW-for-macOS-Supports-Apple...

Hi

The download for macOS is only 2 GB :

The ~ 50 GB download is for Windows including drivers.

48Gb must be the full USB with all extra packages and drivers. Still, it should mount and install. Though as mentioned, i'd start with the LV only download of 2 Gb.

Hi again

There is no 48 GB download for macOS.

What you can download is this :

The four modules listed is included in the 2 GB download. One is the now defunct CDS module for those interested.

The only two drivers you can add to macOS are NI-VISA and NI-488.2. Nothing more.

The drivers are separate downloads :

Hi again

For completeness of NI driver support in macOS.

A NI-DAQmx Base version exist(ed) that could be used with LabVIEW 2020. But not SP1 or newer. It it required macOS 10.14 to run. Nothing newer. The last NI-DAQmx Base was from 2015. So last of last of everything.

Regards
