MAX 14.0 broken and database corrupt after installing LV2014 and latest device drivers

Hey Bob, 

We haven't seen the problems that Oley_Mich or Dr_M are reporting in our upgrade testing. From what we can tell, these are different issues and not necessarily ones unique to the upgrade to 14.5. (I don't know if the issues mcduff is reporting on were the same as either of these or not)

We definitley appreciate everyone's help as we try to get to the bottom of these issues, hopefully improving the overall upgrade experience as well as general experience of our software. I know that upgrade issues can be hugely detrimental to project timelines.

For me, I think DAQmx has been the culprit. Something goes wrong during the upgrade. This happened twice to me, once from 2013 to 2014, and 2014 to 2014SP1. In hindsight, I would update the drivers before LabVIEW to see if that works better.

I'm sorry, but I got it to work (couldn't idle anymore), but I had to destroy all of my logs/data/installations.

Uninstalled all the NI software I could on one try.

Re-booted.  Uninstalled as much NI software as I could (second try).

Re-booted.  etc till all was uninstalled.

After re-boot, deleted EVERY National Instruments folder I could find.

Presumed clean as clean could be.

Re-installed using driver disc, and it now works.
