Make the clicking stop!

When I'm working with the Front Panel, and I click on a button or slider, I only want to move the objects around.  I hate when it tries to set values.

How can I change settings so it won't try to set values?

Hello:

It seems you don't like the behavior of the automatic tool selection. To disable it, press the Shift key and right click the mouse to show the tools pallete. Then press on the green led to disable the automatic tool selection.

Then the cursor will always do what you want, given that you will select which tool you want to use.

Check out this link:

Hope this helps

Of course, after using LabVIEW for a while you may actually find that it grows on you and you find using it all the time.

I still think I can sling wires faster without the auto-tool selection. Smiley Wink

You just have to get used to which part of the control you need to aim at to get the move tool (the arrow). For a slider, it's the scale part of the control, not the actual slider that you move to change the value.

I've always used the auto tool, mainly because the earliest LV version I used was 7.0. I think I'd go crazy without it.
