Makerhub Linx not working with Labview 2018

I've been trying to get Makerhub Linx up and running so that I can write a Labview program on a Beaglebone Black board.  I have had SO many issues, from the VIPM basically refusing to install the software, having to unzip manually the LinxResources file and the LinxProvider2014 files.  The closest I've gotten after manually placing all the files from the LinxProvider2014 file into their respective locations in the Labview 2018 folder, is to the point you add the Beaglebone to your project.  I'm able to add the Beaglebone to the project, but once I go to connect it, it says: "Access denied: This target is running a version of LabVIEW that is different than LabVIEW on the host computer. For Real-Time targets, you can verify the version and reinstall the Real-Time software using MAX."  At this point, I'm completely stumped.  I sure hope the problem isn't that the Linx add-on will ONLY work with LabVIEW 2014.

Hi chad,

please read the FAQ of the Linx Makerhub!

There is an entry on compatibility of LabVIEW and Linx...

Best regards,

Thanks. Yep, right after posting I decided to just install 2014, and you know what, it worked flawlessly.

It seems you already found your solution, but you should know that some VIPM packages aren't allowed to be installed in some versions of LabVIEW.  This is why you couldn't install it, because it isn't supported in any version other than 2014 which is a major bummer and I wish NI would update it.

Could you tell me how you got it to work? I tried desperatly, having LV14(sp1) on a win10 VM and I have a raspberry pi 3 with the latest verson of raspian and linx installed.

I can establish the connection from LV14 to the raspberry, but i cannot deploy any single VI.

The only thing I haven‘t exchanged so far is to use older or other versions of raspian.

Any suggestions? Any help is very much appreciated!

One thing to note is that LabVIEW 2014 SP1 is not officially supported on a Windows 10 OS.
