Did you mean:

Mr. Altenbach or someone! Can you please show me a demonstration of how this code works? (attached VI would be better)

Solved!

FYI: This code is Mr. Altenbach's code from an old post. This code is used to search 2D array.

So when running the code, I typed Apple. I kept getting "not found".

Note: Please if you attach a VI, save it for previous labview version. Otherwise, I will not be able to open it.

Also please feel free to share a different code that works. I am also working on this.

Try typing A instead of Apple.

1: the code searches for "A", not "Apple". It returns "Apple" when you type "A".

2: if saving for a previous version, it would help to know which one.

I tried typing A, a, "A", "a". I kept getting <not found>. Did it work for you?

Never mind. I figured it out.

Thanks for your help!

Yes, I did type A, a, "A" or "a". I kept getting <not found>. Did it work for you? I am using LabView 2019.

Never mind! I figured it out. Thank you for your help.

What did you figure out? Be kind to future people who find this post and let us know what you needed to do.

Glad you figured it out.

Yes, since I wrote the code, it obviously works! All my code works! Always! If it does not work, it is a PEBKAC problem outside my control. 😄

It is really bad form and very impolite to attach code that has already been posted and is not yours, especially if you re-save it maximized to the monitor for some crazy reason! Next time just give us the link to the old discussion!

Note that the originally posted Vi had a poor default value for the string control. I attached a new version in the old thread. (Note that this was not my mistake, but originated from the VI of the OP)

And what super powers do you have that enable you to edit a 5 year old post? I cannot edit any of my post after about 5 minutes (or some other arbitrarily short timeframe)
