My goal is to create a button that the user must hold onto so my while loop can perform. Once the user lets go of this button the function should stop. How can I do this ?

Hi Mangg,

use a button and set it's switching behaviour to "switch until released".

Then you can use an event structure to detect each value change event and use them to en-/disable your "function"…
