NI MAX could not launch

Solved!

What was the version on the old nisysapi.dll that you replaced? And what was the version on C:\Program Files\National Instruments (x86)\Shared\MAX\Bin\mxRmCfg.dll? This might provide some insight into why the problem occurred or why the repair did not solve the problem.

Both versions were the same. The solution marked in this post worked for me.

Hi,

I am also having issue while loading NI MAX. Actually it is Labview 2015 (32 bit version) and I have installed it on windows 7 (64 bit version). When I try to open NI MAX, it says "NI MAX could not lauch because  the required library mxrmcfg.dll failed to load ".

I tried looking the version of nisysapi.dll and mxrmcfg.dll. Both shows the version as V 3.

Any help or suggestion is highly appreciated.

amit54, I am not sure what "V 3" refers to. Either the File Version or Product Version will do. Right-click on each file in Windows Explorer and select Properties, and then on the Properties dialog select the Details tab to see the version details.

Hi,

I could not find the version details when I tried the steps you explained. Attached is the pic.

One situation where I had troubles with MAX involved multiple installations of LabVIEW.  Sometimes a Repair of all things DAQmx and MAX can fix this (but you need all the installation media), sometimes it required a complete removal of all things LabVIEW and a reinstall.

What version(s) of LabVIEW are on your PC?  What version of the Drivers disk did you use?

Bob_Schor,

Actually I had labview 2014 initially, but later I uninstalled it and I installed labview 2015 student edition.

OK, so if you uninstalled all of LabVIEW, then installed the LabVIEW 2015 Student Edition, you should now mount the 2015 Devices and Drivers DVD and install the appropriate NI drivers, including NI DAQmx and MAX (I know DAQmx is on the DVD, I'm pretty sure MAX is there ...).  You probably don't need Embedded Systems (unless you are working with RIOs), Vision, Sound and Motion.
