Hello,
I would like to clarify some driver compatibility issues between a PC and a cRIO. More specifically, I use a laptop which is connected to different cRIO controllers with different cRIO drivers. My laptop has the NI-RIO 3.2.1 driver installed while some of my controllers has e.g NI-RIO 3.1.0 installed. Can I communicate properly by this way? In addition could please somebody submit a link to downlod NI-RIO with scan engine support?
Thank you in advance

Hi LW42,
It depends on what you mean by communicate properly.
In order to do development, you will need the same version of NI-RIO on the computer and cRIO. You will also need this if you communicate directly to the FPGA from the host computer.
However, if you already have an application running on the cRIO and are communicating using shared variables, TCP/IP, network streams, etc., you should be able to communicate with the cRIO just fine with a newer version of the NI-RIO driver.
All versions of NI-RIO later than 3.0 include Scan Engine support. However, not all C-Series modules support the Scan Engine Interface.
You can download the latest versions of the NI-RIO drivers here.
Have a great day,
