NMEA sentences NOT NMEA format???

I bought a GPS mouse out of china. Listing said it outputs NMEA at 4800 baud, no probs, arrived, plugged 5v into it, light comes on and stops flasing when sats are recieved. plugged data into my TeraTerm program and set to 4800 and 8 none 1 none as instructed by the seller. Only a bunch of weird sentances coming though, no $ anywhere to be seen. Just a bunch of numbers and letters. Baud rate changing makes it even worse so i figure its correct at 4800. I bought it to use on a boat to give lat longdata to a sounder with no internal aerial. I hold the data wires against my garmin handheld gps without changing a thing, and the screen has the sentences perfectly and the sounder pics up position in a matter of seconds. I complained and he sent me another the same, after sending a picture of this screen with the correct sentences on it from the new one before he sent it. Hooked it up and exactly the same. I did read about changing the sample time to 256 or something, couldnt see where to do so though.. any ideas? attached is teh box full of wrong sentences

What does this have to do with LabVIEW? Did you just pick a forum at random to ask your question?

Try inverting the line logic for the RS-232. if that does not work, the baud rate is not correct.

Leave the detect settings the same, and try reconfiguring the termial program thru the default baud rates.

Good Luck
