I have a cDAQ-9185. I am having issues connecting to it. What I know:
What I CAN do:
- Connect and control the unit directly from my host PC to the NI-9185 when they are directly connected.
- Connect and control the NI-9185 when I connect the host PC and NI-9185 through a consumer level Netgear GS308E switch.
What I cannot do:
- I CANNOT connect to the NI-9185 when both the host computer and NI-9185 are connected to our company network through a Meraki switch. A loopback is detected by the switch on the port the NI-9185 is connected to is disabled.
- I CANNOT connect and control the NI-9185 when both the host PC and the NI-9185 are connected to the consumer level Netgear GS308E and the consumer level switch is connected to the Meraki switch. Again, the port that the switch is connected to gets disabled automatically by the Meraki switch.
It would seem the NI-9185 is causing a loopback to be detected by the higher level Meraki switch. Any time this happens the the switch automatically disables the port.
Questions:
- Has anybody else seen this? IF so, do you have any suggestions?
- Does the host PC and the NI-9185 have to be on the same subnet? In either "CANNOT" cases the PC is on XXX.XXX.69.XXX subnet and the NI-9185 is on XXX.XXX.66.XXX subnet.
