No Vision Acquisition Software Functions in LabView

Hi, I am having an issue where the Vision Acquisition Software (v20.0) functions do not show up in the LabView (v2018) functions palette.  I installed LabView first and then VAS.  I have tried this several times but keep running into this problem.  Does anyone have a suggestion on how to fix it?  Thanks.

Does everything else with the install seem normal? For example, VAS shows up in License Manager, you can connect to cameras in MAX? Do you have LabVIEW code which calls some Vision functions, and does that code load and run ok?

Have you tried a force reinstall? This requires you to run "setup.exe" from command prompt or powershell, so if you're installing through NI Package Manager I'm not sure it's possible.

I see VAS in NI-Max, License Manager, and Package Manager.  I can see my cameras in NI-Max.  However, when I try to run a VI that calls a VAS driver I get an error that it can't be found.  Also, in LabView there are no examples available which use vision.  It's as if LabView does not recognize VAS is installed.  I uninstalled/reinstalled all software a few times and each time I get the same result.  I have not tried to do a "force reinstall".  I will try that.  Also, I have not installed VAS via the Package Manager.  I just downloaded the install from NI, unzipped, and ran setup.exe file.

Hmm that is strange. Yes try the force reinstall, that often fixes issues for me. Also it's just 1 step instead of 2 steps of uninstalling and reinstalling which is nice.

One other thing.  I am trying to install this software on a Windows 11 PC.  I realize this may be unsupported with the version of LabView and VAS that I am using.  Unfortunately our IT department forced an immediate update to this PC.  I am now trying to get an existing test stand back up and running as quickly as possible.  Long term is to install later versions of the software and recompile code.

One more update, I installed LabView 2018 and VAS 20.0 on a Windows 10 PC and have the same issue.  I wonder if there is something wrong with the VAS install I downloaded from NI?

I'm puzzled why, if you are running LabVIEW 2018, you are installing VAS from LabVIEW 2020.  When I install a version of LabVIEW, I install the Drivers and "other packages" from the same version at the same time.  As it happens, looking in NIPM for the installed packages will often show me the packages for the later versions (for example, I just looked at my current Laptop, which has LabVIEW 2019 (the first install) and LabVIEW 2021 (installed later), and mostly see 2021 versions when looking in NIPM (NI VAS, NI Vision Common Support for LabVIEW 2019 and 2021, Vision Support (both versions), IMAQdx Drivers (both versions), Vision Assistant, and VDM (very few packages, in fact, show 2019 Version numbers in the far right column).

While it wouldn't hurt to try other versions of VAS (such as 18.0), LabVIEW 2018 should be compatible with all VAS versions from 18.0 to 21.0.
