Nsamp Nchan waveform to mat file

Generic question ( will try to upload vi if absolutely needed)

I am generating Nsamp Nchan waveform from DAQ board. Each channel has its own name, and successfully saved to tdms.

Now, I want to save mat file at the same time ( to ease further Matlab-based signal analysis). 

Is there any way to save the same channel names inside a mat file?

I looked into examle of code (LabVIEW Write To MAT LV86), but for some reason only first channel is recorded, and without channel name inside of mat file.

Any thoughts or suggestions how I can accomplish my goal?
