Password Protect Hierarchy in LV8

It seems that in 8.0 they took out the File menu item of 'Save With Options' in order to password protect all the VI's in your hierarchy.  Does anyone out there know of a way to do this in 8.0 or do we have to do every VI individually now?

Hi,

With LabVIEW 8.0, you can build a "source distribution" which is similar to using the "Save with options".

(for password protection, click on Source File Settings)

HI Anikita,

Could you please advise on what happened to the "Development Distibution"?

The application distribution used to save all of the VI's in VI.lib and created a nightmare when trying to figure out which VI's came from were etc. I have often advised against saving VI's with that option.

Hi Ben,

Development Distribution in LabVIEW 7.1 is the same as Source Distribution in LabVIEW 8.0. Both the options save all VIs, objects, and external subroutines, excluding those in vi.lib, to a directory or library. Use these option to save a hierarchy of VIs for use on another LabVIEW installation that has its own vi.lib.

To create a source distribution in LabVIEW 8.0 you can use the instructions provided here.
