Peak/Valley detection fails in certain locations

Hi,

I am using National Instruments Peak detection Algrorithm in Measurement Studio which is similar to the one implemented in LabVIEW. 

The algorithm can detect peaks correctly but in certain areas it fails in identifying a valley.. (like the screenshot below)

Orange >> Original signal.

Blue >> Identified points by peak/valley detect.

Magnifying the signal and looking for peaks is not really an option... Also experimented with different window sizes without any success.. Why is this happening when the neighbors with a similar pattern right next to it are recognized correctly?

Hi gauthamlv,

What function call are you using for the peak detection? And what are you using as the input parameters? Sometimes with peak detection, it's just a matter of tweaking the parameters. Here is some information about using peak detection in Measurement Studio: http://www.ni.com/white-paper/3770/en/
