Profinet interface using the Hilscher CIFX 70E or CIFX 50E boards

Solved!

Does anyone have any experience using the Hilscher profinet with LabView.  The Kunbus option is not available in PCIe and I need to communicate through that interface.

Hi Steve,

I do not have experience with this combination, but a quick search brought me to this page: http://www.xon.de/en/project_industrial_ethernet.html

In step 4, it looks like they're calling into the driver DLL to communicate over Profinet. So, it looks like it might be possible.

It might be worth contacting XOn Software if there isn't more info that comes up on this forum

P.S. Also found this post by "Mads" on lavag.

Looks easy enough.  I'll give it a try when the board comes in.

I also have problem, with handle, the CIFX 50E driver handling in Labview, because for windows 10 driver has changed
significant. I dont know, hogy should i handle pointers, C typedefed structures, values of structures. I dont know, how
sould i read the values of conllex variable (wich defined in dll) if i only have returned pointer in Labview.
I found worhking examples for the old Cif32dll.dll, but for windows 10 the had write the new cifX32DLL.dll (significant
changes).
Should you give me any help, or any example?
I sent all information, driver, documentation, and other material. (CIFX.ZIP)

Meanwhile the PCIe Version of the KUNBUS DF PROFINET IO board is available and can be ordered at Kunbus (https://www.kunbus.com/pc-cards-profinet-io.html)

Hello,

I have a problem with the Hilscher device, too. The program runs from the IDE but not when I compile it to an EXE.

Does anyone have a solution on this problem?

Thank you!

According to our experience there is no difference between cifX access in IDE and EXE respecitvely. Did you have a look at Hilscher Knowledge Base? There is an example available at

https://kb.hilscher.com/pages/viewpage.action?pageId=108958342#cifXandnetHOSTintegrationinLabView[DE...

If this doesn't help we could build the interface for you as we have a vast experience is that field - see https://www.hilscher.com/solutions/success-stories/success-story-pc-based-automation-with-unified-in....
