Refreshing the user library without restarting?

Solved!

Does anyone know a way to refresh the user library without restarting Labview?  I've searched the forum and LV help, but I'm not seeing that feature...

Thanks,

Chad

What do mean refresh the user library? What are you trying to do, give us some context.

I think if you go Tools >> Advanced >>  Edit Palette Set to cause LabVIEW to reload the palettes.  I've done it once before, I just don't remember exactly if that is what I did.

Recent versions of LV (I believe 8.6 and up) have an Application class method called Palettes.Refresh, which reloads the palettes.

Sorry, I wasn't clear.... I'm wanting to reload the user library on the fly as I create new subVI's so I can use them without having to reload Labview... which is the only way I've found to have them show up in my UL.  I'm still a pretty green noob here... so, this may be a "basic" feature I havn't used yet.

Thanks!

Ravens Fan,

Works like a champ!  That's exactly what I was looking for!

Thanks!

And what is wrong with the methods suggested? Did you try any of them? I know for a fact that the Refresh Palettes method works.

Edit-posted before you read Ravens response and tried it.

Ok, I've run into a bit of a snafu... I've run the Tools/Advanced/Edit Palette Set... and one time it'll bring up a screen that I can just hit Cancel and the palettes have been updated.  The next time it'll open the Functions and Controls palettes in both screens and I can't close them.  It's like it's in edit mode and there doesn't seem to be any way to exit.  I can run my VI, but I can't even close them.  Any thoughts?

After much futzing the only way I can get LabView to close is to go into the Win Task Manager and end the LabView process at which time it goes non-responsive and I have to force it to close.  Possible bug?  ..or am I doing something wrong?

I've not encountered the behavior you're describing. Is it repeatable? If so, what are the steps you are doing to get the condition to occur? What version of LabVIEW are you using?
