Remote Triggering

I am seeking a way for an operator to trigger remotely to take a voltage measurement. I have an testing operation where the person performing a test must use both hands to place some voltage probes and somehow tell LabVIEW to now take the reading. Since both hands are be use to touch some test points I was thinking of maybe a foot pedal to signal a sensor that the probes are now securely making contact with the test points. Has anyone anyone done something like this?.

All of the test operators at my previous employer used foot pedals for this very reason.  They are extremely convenient, and there are even units with multiple pedals to map to other functions.  The pedal connects directly to the PC, and you can map the pedal to any key (e.g. Carriage Return)

Oh, that's great. Thanks. Not sure how to map something to the keyboard but I guess I can try to figure that out. Any suggestions on where to start looking?

I would prefer seeking a more elegant test setup.  Clips on the probes, fixtures or anything that permits the measurement with no more than 1 hand and pair of eyes!  Your test technician should be (see signature line) better trained.  If you merely have operators, rather than trained technicians, you need to rethink your entire test philosophy.
