Seeking text search on the LabVIEW toolbar

Hi, just a simple question I hope.

There used to be a text search on the LabVIEW toolbar on both the front panel and the block diagram. The attached screenshot snip shows this (LV2020 on Win7).

I can no longer see this. The change had completely passed me by until I was asked about it by a new recruit working through LabVIEW Core 1 training. It's mentioned in the training but we are unable to find it on our current LabVIEW installations (LV2020 on Win 10).

Has it been removed from LabVIEW?

Is there a way to turn it on? (We can't find one).

It will disappear if you make the front panel window too small.

You can always press <ctrl>+f to bring up the search dialog where you can select "text" on the top.

Thanks for your prompt response.

It's unavailable in the toolbar regardless of window size (well, up to full screen on my 27" 4k monitor at least).

I've always used the search dialogue you describe, which is why I hadn't noticed the loss of the feature in the toolbar until it was drawn to my attention. I'll prompt our new recruit to use this too.

I haven't updated to 2023 or 2024 yet, but I think 2023 Q1 is when it disappeared.

Looking through it shows multiple places with the search bar (or the magnifying glass where it hides when the window gets small).

Hi Kyle, thanks for your response.

This certainly ties in with what we are seeing, and we will take it that the search box has been deliberately removed from the tool bar. This means we can stop searching for the option to turn it back on!

A minor correction to the original question - We could see the toolbar text search in LV2020 on Win7, but not in LV2023 on Win 10.

Kyle97330 demonstrated that the feature was removed in LV2023 so I've accepted that as the solution.
