Is there any reason why select a VI does not load a VI from my disk. It worked fine before. What could I have done to disable it?

Do you get any error messages? Could it be that you select a VI that is in a newer version of LabVIEW?

Did you install any other software recently? See for example this discussion.

Yes. I saw that one. I did install anti virus. That's it.
Your response is very ambiguous. What do you mean by "that's it"?
Was installing the AV the problem or was it simply all you did? Does disabling the AV fix the problem?
What is the name and version of the AV program? (e.g. avast does not seem to like LabVIEW at all, but causes different problems)

I meant the McAfee Security Scan Plus was the only software that I loaded on the PC. (That what I meant by "that's it). No effect when I disable it.
I can drag and drop a vi, but not "Select a VI" from the funtion pallette. Very strange. Not the end of the world as I have a work around but starnge as it
did work a month ago.

Hello,
I had the same problem yesterday, when I just wanted to insert a new VI from a llb with the "select a VI" function. Somehow it looked to me, that the diagram, that I wanted to insert the VI into, was not an active window after I pressed OK...The PC belongs to another institute, so I have at the moment no information about what else is installed. I know, that they update LabVIEW regularly...I should tell them not to do that during a running measurement project...not even during a break of a few days.
I succeeded inserting the new VI with copying to another folder (outside the llb structure) and then drag and drop it into the diagram.
Does anybody have already an idea about the cause of this malfunction?
Greetings!
Olli
