Simulate ECG Signal Source will not install from BME Startup Kit

Hi, I'm having a problem getting all the VIs that are supposed to be provided with the BME Startup Kit to install, namely the Simulation ECG Signal Source VI. I have the two toolkits, Vision, and DAQmx driver installed. When I go to try to used the VI, there is a large question mark where the selection button normally is for a VI, and the VI does not show up in the Biomedical pallette directory. Can someone please give me some insight as to what might be the problem? If you need more information, I'd be happy to provide it.

Thanks!!

What is the BME Startup Kit and where did you get it from? I don't think that is something that NI sells or distributes so have you asked the provider? What is the name of the missing VI?

The startup kit is offered free for download by National Instruments here: http://zone.ni.com/devzone/cda/tut/p/id/6626. The name of the missing VI is "Simulate ECG Signal Source."

I can't download the toolkit right now. It might take me a while to get to this. Maybe someone else can help.

I finally got around to downloading the toolkit. I got the 8.5 version and the Simulate ECG Signal is on my palette (top row, upper right).

Is there any reason why the ECG VI in particular might not install that you can think of?

It does require the full version of LabVIEW - not the base version. That's the only thing I can think of. I had a look at the code for the express VI and besides the subVI (subSimulate ECG Signal.vi in the user.lib\_express folder), it uses standard VIs in the full version of LabVIEW (i.e. Sine Waveform, Uniform White Noise). If any subVI is missing, you will get the '?' on your palette. For example, I don't have Vision installed so I have the same thing for those on the imaging paletttes.

My problem ended up being related to the fact that I had installed LabVIEW onto a drive other than the C:\ drive on my computer. For some reason that keeps the Simulate ECG ExpressVI from installing to the computer. I visited NI and they provided me with a copy of that ExpressVI which I added to my functions palatte manually and it works fine. If you can provide an email address, I can send you the Simulate ECG VI. I should warn you, though, the VI is a little hacked together and does not do a fantastic job of simulating a realistic ECG.
