Source Code Control Options for LabView

Hello!

We are a small development team using LabView 2011.  Are there built-in source control options for this version?  If so, where is the best place to find out more?  If not, we would love to know what others are using.

Other members of our team are using Microsoft Team Foundation Server for SCC of non-LabView applications and we are interested in exploring it for LabView (maybe?!) I understand that it is not on NI's current list of supported third-party SCC products...

Thanks in advance to all who respond.

Nina

Thanks for your suggestions.

Bear with us as we are still new to many aspects of LabView.  This question does come up frequently so it seems that it is somewhat problematic for more than a few.

There are many posts, not all of them recent, and we couldn't find anything that specifically referenced MS Team Foundation Server.  It was not clear whether LabView 2011 has built-in source control; we had head that previous versions did.

I have also started a blog series on some of the more popular open source systems.  See this thread for links to all the posts thus far.

Built-in source code control is dependent on your version of LabVIEW.  You need the Professional version of it (or the NI Developer Suite).

Hi--

We have LabView 2011 Professional.  From reading through the topics on source control in LabView Help,  it seemed as though a 3rd-party product was mandatory if you wanted SCC for this version.

Thanks!

Hello Nina,

LabVIEW 8.0 Professional and higher is compatible with the Microsoft Team system. Based on my understanding, the Team Foundation Server is a part of the Microsoft Team system. In order for LabVIEW to see Team System, you need to install the Visual Studio Team Foundation Server MSSCCI Provider. If your Source Code Control Provider Does Not Appear In LabVIEW Options please refer to the link below:
