I inherited a DAQ system of 9149 and 9148 ethernet rios running various I/O cards connected to a host PC. I did a test with a signal generator and found that they are not synchronized with one another and the lag will vary between 10 to 100 ms between chassis. each chassis is being ran in FPGA mode and the host PC is reading from each FPGA reference every 100ms. The only information I can find about syncing ethernet chassis is a NI whitepage comparing MXI, Ethernet, and Ethercat Rios and in the paper, it says "Ethernet RIO chassis can be synchronized using a C Series digital I/O module to distribute a reference clock signal among chassis." What would be my options for synchronizing these chassis?

This reference (Synchronize Multiple cDAQ or cRIO Chassis Using the NI-9469 Module ) is very recent, but it references a different module than the one you are using. Still, it might provide useful information ...

Perhaps Wait on Digital Trigger Option for LabVIEW FPGA is more relevant for RIO chassis.
