TDMS Write Memory and VI based API for TDMS - LV2009

Solved!
Go to solution

Back in June I posted a question about a memory issue with TDMS Write (LV86). - TDMS Write Memory Leak

  • Does TDMS Write Memory work the same way in LV 2009? Does LabVIEW create an ever expanding buffer to hold indexes with each write?
  • What format do the VI-Based API for Writing TDMS Files write in LV2009? 1.0 or 2.0?

  • For "TDMS Write Memory", it has the same behavior in LV 2009.
  • For VI-Based API, the file format in 2009 is 1.0, but 1.0 version files still work fine with LV 2009.

In the future will it be possible to turn this "feature" off?

I guess that this is good - no compatability issues, but will I be able to use TDMS 2.0 in the future without the indexing issue?

Yes, we'll consider your request in the future. I guess you'll not wait for too long time 🙂
