Trigger based measurement in Yokogawa WT3000 and WT500

Solved!

Hi all,Smiley Happy

I am new to this WT500 and WT3000 power analyzers.  I hope some one worked in WT500 or WT3000 trigger measuremen can help me immediately.

My application goes like this:

  • I want to measure both current and voltage of a DC line simultaneously using WT500 or WT3000.
  • The device should continuously measure the curent and voltage for 1 second.
  • The measurement should happen after the external trigger is given to the device.
  • After completion, I need to get the data through GPIB communication.

Does this operation possible with WT500 or WT3000?

Thanks,

Ajay.

Finally I tested myselft spending 8hrs of my time to find out the Trigger based measuremnt in Yokogawa.  Following are the steps I used to test it.

  1. Initializing WT500/WT3000 for trigger based measurement:
    1. Set Current Range and voltage range.
    2. Set Time/Div(10ms, 20ms, 50ms) and Update rate(100ms, 200ms and 500ms).  These two parameters determine the buffer duration of this function step.
    3. Set Display format as “Wave”.
    4. Configure Trigger based measurement (Display Waveform Trigger Mode.vi) to Normal and External as source.
    5. Wait for some time (500ms) for setup of WT500/WT3000.
  2. Generate the trigger from other instrument.
  3. Read the waveform from WT500/WT3000.
  4. Disable trigger based measurement.
