Unable to See USB flash drive on sbrio device port

Solved!
Go to solution

Hi,

I am using a sbrio-9609 with two usb-c ports. One is the host port and the other is the device port. I am unable to see a usb-a flash drive when connected to the device port. I can see it on the host port, but I am using the host port for embedded UI. Is there a reason for this?

Thanks,

-Jonathan

It is expected. What exactly are the differences between a USB host and device

The host initiates all communication on the bus, the device only responds when asked by the host. For Details see the specs on usb.org.

A device port cannot be used to communicate with any devices. It is meant to be used for a host PC to communicate with it for NI MAX detection or code deployment. Most PCs only have host ports.
