I really dislike this trend of sensationalism that has taken over nearly all internet communication these days. Can't take anything seriously any more.

I didn't have a specific technique in mind—nor could I if I wanted to—when creating this post, but the problems I initially mentioned are real. The IDE doesn't work well for working with classes. Dynamic tooling for frameworks is also an issue, impacting collaboration and versioning.
I also don't think XML exports are a solution, as this hasn't worked well for Qt's designer either. However, a coded Qt GUI can be effectively versioned.
I never used scripting, but it doesn't look like something that benefits from being done graphically. Scripting seems like something that could have a C or .NET interface without losing anything.

pylabview may be the closest you can get. Somewhere in this presentation it's stated NI uses this tool and is unlikely to let it be abandoned (but far short of describing it as actually supported).

It's at 27:00 to about 28:00, Interesting statement. But really the whole presentation is definitely worth watching! Also touches the LVAddon ini file settings, so a minor start into LVAddons.

And here I thought all problems were caused by rampant use of social media. But everyone on Twitter said that was wrong so... 🤔
