I am experiencing a similar problem.
I am working with other students who are not facing the same problem with this.
But unfortunately those that know do not explain, they take the opportunity to slay the novices like me. Please help explain i f you can.
Sometimes I feel we do not articulate to where the problem is but rather circumvent it.
Please help us to navigate.
We have already failed that is why we seek your help.

This is a long thread that started over a decade ago. Who are you asking help from?
If reading the entire thread did not help you, then you need to tell us some details about your situation.

I have the same problem communicating with a BNC575 pulse/delay generator.
The program works several times for up to a month until it doesn't, giving the error above so I don't think the error primarily is in the LabVIEW code. It doesnt help to restart LabVIEW/the PC/BNC575, so I am looking for ways to reset the COM port using e.g. the device manager but so far no luck. I have changed computer a couple of times and it works for a while until the problem occur again.
How can you see how the com port is assigned? And then change it?
