Verify if a path exist or if its not a path

Hello,

I want to read data from a spreadsheet file in a part of the application I am building but to read this data I want to verify first if the path exists or not, since I only wnt to read this data if there is such a file. I was trying to use a function called "Path type" which returns 2 if the path wired is 'Not a Path' but its not working properly, its acusing if the path is valid or not, not acusing if it exists in the computer or not.

That's why the Check if File Or Folder Exists.vi is there (look in the File IO->Advanced palette.
