acquiring sensor data into the bus monitor using AIT MIL STD 1553 pxi card

I am a beginner in Labview.

I have a single channel AIT MIL STD 1553 card, I have installed the AIT instrument drivers and the 1553 card in one of the PXI slots.Now I need to acquire the current sensor data into the remote terminal(RT), then i need to command the RT to send the data to the bus monitor by using bus controller. i want this to happen in labVIEW. Please suggest me on which AIT example shipped along with the drivers would be best suitable for my application.

I only used a MIL STD card from AIM so far. But I think your question is much more likely to receive some feedback on the AIT support forum, if there is such a thing. They know their software the best and you will find much more likely some users of that product on there. What I can say about the AIM API is that it is very broad and extensive and complicated (and the LabVIEW interface is programmed terribly). And the examples that ship with it only show how to setup generic RT, BM and a simulation interface to use with them to get some simulated data into the application. It took quite some time to get a good understanding of that API and more time to get some real data from an external RT device.

Thanks for your reply, that makes sense, i will post this query in AIT support forum, i have one doubt, i have a AIT 1553 bus card and a 1-channel cable(channel 1A and channel 1B). Is there any other additional requirements that i need to make a 1553  test setup?Do i need a Bus coupler and terminators to complete the setup or i can work without it?.

I don't know the technical details of your card. The interface I used has the ability to enable in software an internal bus coupler simulation so that it is not necessary to have a real external buscoupler for trivial setups (single connection to a single RT). If your hardware has this capability then it should be fine to connect the cables directly to your sensor for test purposes. For more complex setups with multiple RTs and/or longer cables you definitely will need some extra bus coupler hardware.
