build EXE function not found

Hello,

 

        I am working on Labview 8.0.. The problem I am facing is, I cant find the Build EXE option in the tools... I have installed all the packages correctly.. and I have also tried reinstalling the whole lv... but still the Build exe option is missing.. Can anyone tell me how to find it??

You need to create a project and then specify a build specification.

 

This is explained in the LabVIEW documentation.

Hello,

 

         Actually I am running LV both on my personal laptop and also in my office computer.. In the office computer the Build exe function is there.. Just in my laptop its not found.. And creating a project and then finding the function, I couldne uderstand well... can u make it a bit more clear?

Are you sure you have the Professional Edition on both machines? The Application Builder is included in that edition. For the Base or Full you need to purchase it separately.

 

As I noted, starting in LabVIEW 8 you need to use projects to create applications. This is explained in the LabVIEW Help, and it spells out the steps to perform to create an application. This KB article also contains the steps: Distributing Applications with the LabVIEW Application Builder.
