cRIO-9074 "Failed to connect to Real-Time Target"

I am trying to deploy a real time application on to cRIO-9074 chassis, but have become stuck!

I have successfully built the application but deploying it is another matter.  My PC is running Real-time 11.0 but initially the cRIO had an older version.  I have therefore updated the software on the cRIO via MAX and that all seems to be installed Ok (lots of blue ticks on the list).

BUT now when I try to deploy I have an conflict message “Failed to connect to Real-Time Target”.  The Status light on the cRIO is flashing 4 times every few seconds, even after a reboot.

HELP!

I have reformated the cRIO and reinstalled Real-Time 11.0.  I can now connect to the chassis in my LabVIEW project and the Status light is not flashing any more, but I am getting the Conflict message "This VI is part of a Real_Time Startup Application.  All VIs on the target will be closed if you choose to apply and continue with deployment."  There is no indication that the build has been deployed as the User1 light is not flashing, which it is wired to do.

Hi BlueSilver,

This error generally refers to a deployment already being active. If you are not worried about what is running on your RT target have you tried deploying anyway? Is this possible?

If you are trying to avoid stopping a deployment from being interrupted the following KB is very useful:
